So What’s New?

By October 25, 2010New Sites, WordPress

As usual, I have let my “New Sites” update wait for far too long and thus I have far too many for one post. Check back for another installment soon . . .

Following are some of the web sites I have had the privilege to build over the last few months. Every single one of them is in WordPress, which you know I love if you read this blog at all.

Elie Hu

http://elisehu.com

Elise Hu is a journalist, Blogger, Podcaster, Editor . . . ok, what does she NOT do? I love the clean simplicity of this site, and how it is all organized to showcase just how many things she is involved in.

Pearl Events

http://pearleventsaustin.com

Pearl Events is an Austin events planning business who specializes in the unique. Their web site had to stand out from the basic “tipping champagne glasses” theme of most event web sites. The color scheme and design all stand out, but still say “It will be a beautiful day.”

Ann Woodall Studios

http://annwoodallstudios.com

Ann Woodall is an Austin-based photographer and painter whose work really captures the local spirit. We redesigned her whole web site from scratch, replacing her old Zen Cart store with one that was more user friendly.I love the whole retro-but-modern vibe of the design.

Custom Tuscany

http://customtuscany.com

Talk about a great job – Betsy of Custom Tuscany helps people plan their perfect Tuscan vacation. This is one client I hope I have the opportunity to hire myself someday.  Vibrant colors capture the spirit of this amazing region in Italy, and the many photos, along with Betsy’s travelogues, make you yearn to be there RIGHT NOW.

Eye Institute

http://eyeinstitute.com

Eye Institute is a central Texas opthamologist’s office who had a web site they were not in love with. My directives were to keep it clean and professional, and use lots of Austin photos. Note as you go to each page in the site, the photo in the header changes to showcase another Austin feature or landmark. On the Locations page, you can get driving directions form Google without ever leaving the web site!

What Can I Do for You?

This is the perfect time of year to be gearing up for the holiday shoppers – and I don’t just mean people looking for something to put under the tree. As holiday and quarterly bonuses approach (some people still get them – lucky!) people will be researching how to spend them. Do you have a beautiful, effective web site ready to greet them? Contact me to discuss how we can make the most of your online presence!
